Product Manager, ID/AST & Blood Culture, Central Europe (gn)*

Our client is a global medical technology company and active manufacturer of life science, laboratory diagnostics and medicinal technology devices and equipment, e.g. focusing on enhancing the diagnosis of infectious diseases, serving healthcare institutions and clinical laboratories.

The Product Manager Identification/Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing & Blood Culture is instrumental in driving marketing excellence for newest technologies, and sustainable profitable growth. He/she will become the member of a highly motivated, diagnostic marketing team.

The task comprises working in the company’s Central European headquarter in the southern part of Germany, with a significant amount of travelling and, if desired, occasional opportunities to work from the home office.

The position offers a competitive income plus a fair bonus system, a representative company car (also for private use) and other salary components, additionally a profound training period and the possibility of continuing education.


Your major responsibilities:

  • Ensure marketing is a core competency and source of competitive advantage for the company in Europe.
  • Implement and execute the ID/AST & Blood Culture solution strategy in Central Europe; make fact-based and strategic business decisions, drive disciplined processes and marketing strategies to unlock opportunities.
  • Manage the product portfolio to maximize growth and profitability in Central Europe, according to regional marketing targets and guidelines.
  • Partner with the sales organization to understand customer needs and position the portfolio and capabilities in a credible and differentiated way.
  • Implement and maintain "best practices" in product management, while managing extensive interaction with internal and external stakeholders (KOL management).

Your qualifications:

  • Diagnostic and – ideally but not necessary – microbiology background.
  • Experience in a commercial product management role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English and German both oral and written.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization, and ideally working in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Business and financial acumen.
  • Dynamic, innovative, and engaging personality.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 50%).
